| I | Tumor confined to vagina |
| II | Invasion of paravaginal tissues but no extension beyond pelvic side walls |
| III | Extension to pelvic side walls |
| IV | Spread beyond the true pelvis |
| IVA | Invasion of bladder / rectal mucosa and / or extension beyond the true pelvis |
| IVB | Distant metastatic disease |
